Evercade VS

Art Direction, Branding, Packaging, Menu, Marketing

As Head of Creative at Blaze Entertainment Ltd, I directed the visual output for Evercade’s first home console, the Evercade VS, which won T3’s Platinum Award for "retro gaming done right."

I played a key role in evolving Evercade from a single handheld into a broader ecosystem, establishing product sub-brands and a cohesive identity. My work spanned strategic input—helping to define audience, product identity, and messaging—through to hands-on design, including branding, photography direction, menu UI, packaging, and more.

Launch Trailer

I storyboarded and art-directed this live-action trailer for the Evercade VS launch, working with an external video production agency from filming through to final production. The aim was to position the VS within the broader Evercade ecosystem, showcasing its support for all cross-compatible cartridges. In terms of tone, we sought to evoke retro gaming nostalgia and the spirit of bringing people together—without taking ourselves too seriously, appealing directly to the retro gaming audience.

Menu

We designed the menu from scratch to deliver the best possible user experience. I directed the creative process from start to finish, working closely with the lead developer and UX designer—defining transitions and writing documentation to map out screen layouts and flow. Alongside overseeing the design, I created the UI, art-worked bespoke pixel-perfect banners, and heavily retouched box art, often recreating missing details from lost or low-quality source materials. We rolled this out at 1080p for TV and 272p for handheld.
